I'll have to put some thought into that. If the best winner plays the first winner, then you certainly favor the guy who performed better in the last round.

I'm not sure that guy is the best player (the secondary goals are probably more impacted by match-up, mission and luck than skill), but it certainly gives me incentive to completely crush my opponent.

One of the appeals of a W/L/D tournament is that you don't have to crush your opponent to advance (unlike the old 1601+ VP objectives at Adepticon). This kind of reintroduces that incentive.

Interesting -- can't wait to hear how it turns out!

That would discourage sandbagging to avoid the top tables, which isn't a terrible thing. Looking forward to your reports, as I have some designs on a very similar army, due to the overall fantastic models.
